The Oertel Nadebaum Distinguished Service Award is designed to provide recognition to Appita members who have made substantial non-technical contributions, in a voluntary capacity, to Appita over a number of years. The nominee should have been an active financial member for at least ten years. 

Oertel Nadebaum Award recognises outstanding service to Appita. 

The Medal is a solid silver medallion of about 50 mm diameter, mounted on polished wood, with the winners name on an engraved silver plate attached.

Dr Desmond E. Richardson - Oertel Nadebaum Distinguished Service Award (2017). The award was presented at the Appita Opening Ceremony in Melbourne

The Oertel Nadebaum Distinguished Service Award honours the late Oertel Nadebaum, who gave outstanding service to Appita over more than two decades.

It is designed to provide recognition to Appita members who have made substantial non-technical contributions to Appita over a period of years. A member under consideration for the award should have been active in Appita for at least 10 years. The award is in the form of a plaque.

The prize is funded directly by Appita. It takes the form of a bronze sculpture of about 120 mm diameter, mounted on polished wood, with a cast bronze plate bearing the winners name.

*Due to the Conference taking place later in the year it was decided to award the prize in the current year rather than the preceding year
