Sonia is currently the strategic procurement partner to the Executive General Manager of Visy Pulp & Paper and a significant contributor to the Visy Global Procurement Leadership Team.

Sonia began her career as a Graduate Process Engineer working for Australian Paper at their Maryvale Mill, after completing her Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (with Honours) at RMIT University in 1996 followed by her Master of Engineering Science Pulp & Paper Technology at Monash University in 1998. She held various technical positions at Visy Board and Carter Holt Harvey Tissue before expanding her career as a procurement professional.

As a senior leader who has a passion for operational excellence, Sonia leverages her expansive network to deliver sustainable value on strategic initiatives and transformational projects that has led to over $20 M in commercial benefit.

Sonia's authentic leadership style has recently seen her the winner of Visy's 2021 "Developing Excellence in People" COO Award. Sonia initiated a Leadership Development Program that has benefited many women within the Visy procurement team across Australia, Singapore, and China.
