The objective of this project was to investigate and improve the washing capability of the disc press washers in 3CD, Kinleith’s Neutral Sulfite Semi Chemical (NSSC) pulp mill. This was achieved by benchmarking the existing washing performance, optimising the washing to meet key operating parameters and developing an automation model. This presentation will step through the key milestones of the project and discuss the outcomes, key learning and next steps for improvement when looking at 3CD washing capability.
