Pulp & Paper Specialist


The Position

We are seeking an experienced Pulp & Paper Specialist to provide a high level of technical support across a range of Pulp & Paper processes to the Albury Mill.

Key Accountabilities

    This position will require an individual with the expertise and commitment to:

    • Develop and provide specialised technical expertise and advice across a broad range of pulp and paper processes.
    • Demonstrate a proactive commitment to safety, health, well-being and the environment.
    • Optimise process parameters and control strategies with objective of achieving the most efficient process operation while meeting / exceeding required safety, environmental and quality standards and   customer requirements.
    • Support Mill trials through analysis and interpretation, development, review of trial plans and lead when resources or skills in the line are deficient.
    • Generate and implement new ways to help reduce costs through process improvements. These 'new ways' include energy improvement initiatives.
    • Where directed, investigate areas of new technology
    • Ensure delivery of project outcomes through effective project planning, resource allocation and task management.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Highly developed problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
    • Highly development project management skills.
    • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
    • Lab to actual process investigation and measurement.
    • Masters/PhD chemistry or chemical engineering degree (or equivalent degree and/or experience) would be highly regarded.
    • Broad understanding of the pulp & paper processes.

     Account Manager Pulp & Paper Industry
    - Gippsland


    Chemiplas is a major supplier of specialty products to the Pulp & Paper, Water Treatment and Mining Industry in both Australia and New Zealand. We represent some of the world's leading manufacturers and take a hands-on, total systems approach to assisting our customers. 

    Our Distribution Business is growing and in order for us to provide support for our existing business and develop further opportunities, we are looking to recruit a performance-orientated achiever to become an integral part of our successful experienced team.

    We are looking to recruit an Account Manager to be based in Gippsland Victoria to service our existing customer base and develop new business within this area. You will be fully supported by our existing team and will closely work with our Business Development Manager to help drive further opportunities. The role will primarily be based at a key Pulp and Paper Mill with secondary responsibilities in the Water Treatment and Mining sectors.

    Applicants should ideally be tertiary qualified (B.Sc, B. Chem. E or similar) and / or have some practical experience in Pulp & Paper, Water Treatment/Mining processes. A demonstrated ability to establish strong customer relationships would be highly beneficial. The role requires a well-organized and motivated approach with a high degree of practical input.  Some limited out-of-town travel may be required.

    Full Training and support will be provided including technical courses with our major Supply Partners.
