David was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Spicers Ltd, effective July 18, 2016, when Spicers was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, then sold and de-listed the business, to Kokusai Pulp & Paper (KPP) in Sept, 2019.

He joined Spicers after a long and distinguished career with Avery Dennison, a NYSE-listed multinational company specialising in packaging, labels, adhesive materials, and visual communications. With previous experience spanning 7 years at 3M, David brings a broad perspective on various business models and industry sectors.

During his 22-year tenure at Avery Dennison, David led various divisions across Australia & New Zealand, Asia, South Africa, and the USA, showcasing extensive geographical experience in business leadership. He holds an MBA from the University of South Australia, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and completed M&A studies at the Melbourne Business School.

As part of his role within the KPP Group, also as an executive director of KPP Holdings in Japan, David is responsible for leading the Spicers Group's operations and growth strategy in Oceania and the Asia Pacific, including India. The diversification of the business and its M&A model have been a hallmark of Spicers' recent operational strength, contributing to their strong business performance and their thriving position in their chosen sectors.
