Jano Crema is the Sustainability and Public Relations Manager for Huhtamaki in Australasian region. Jano is qualified as a Material Scientist and Industrial Engineer and has almost 30 years of experience in the manufacturing industry across a wide range of industries including plastics forming, paper production, petrochemical and food production. Jano has been with Huhtamaki for over 15 years and has held a number of positions within the business including Production Manager of the Sydney manufacturing site and Business Excellence manager for the Australian operations. Jano has a strong desire to develop the sustainability of both the Huhtamaki products and operations in order to meet the needs of customers. His expertise in manufacturing and packaging is also being utilised to help guide and shape the development of Single Use Packaging regulations in Australia through involvement in peak packaging bodies such as the Australian Packaging Covenant. Jano’s transition into a sustainability role has been motivated by a passion for science, technology and a desire to continually improve the way things work. He sees sustainability and the progress towards a more sustainable future as the meeting point for these passions.
