Kym began his career in the ANZ P&P Industry in 1981 at APM Maryvale mill working in both pulp&paper operations. Furthur employment roles has given him wide experience across all pulp and paper and panelboard manufacturing process and projects including contact with all pulp and paper and panelboard mills that were in operation in Australia and New Zealand in the 1980’s . His Company Fibertech PtyLtd has been a supplier of pulp and paper equipment and consumable machine parts, particularly refiner plates and also as a sales agent for major overseas equipment suppliers including Andritz Austria.
He became a member of Appita in 1981 and presented his first technical paper at the 1983 Mt Gambier Conference.
Now retired from direct involvement with the local P&P industry he is continuing his work with processing hemp fiber to produce a commercially viable pulp and paper product.
