Tony Johnson has over 40 years’ experience in the pulp and paper industry. With 12 years in an integrated bleached kraft mill in various technical and operational positions combined with 28 years in the consulting business, Tony has a comprehensive background in chemical pulping and bleaching operations. Tony has worked in NZ, USA, Canada, South America, Asia and Australia. Having worked for over 40 companies as a consultant Tony has been exposed to many opportunities, challenges and
learnings. This encompasses studies, design, management, operations, technical leadership, process safety particularly HAZOP studies, in both new and rebuilt pulp and paper mills. Tony has also been heavily involved in technical associations and contributed his time for teaching courses, giving papers and being on committees. All this background is available to any mentee.

I have had several outstanding mentors in my career and want to reciprocate with the younger generation. I enjoy helping people reach their potential and the Appita YPN program is the perfect way to do this.
