Florent Allais, Prof Florent Allais, Prof Florent Allais (FRSC, Professor of Green Chemistry Director, URD ABI- AgroParisTech, France)

After a Ph.D. (University of Florida, USA), 2 postdoctoral fellowships (ESPCI, Paris, France and ICSN-CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette, France), and 5 years as a tenured scientist at the INRAe (French Institute for Agronomic Research) at the Versailles Research Center, I've been hired by AgroParisTech to build and manage URD ABI (formerly known as Chaire ABI).

This multidisciplinary research team gathers scientists with background and expertise in life sciences (microbiology, chemistry, analytical chemistry), downstream process and material/polymer sciences to work on the bioconversion of biomass to high value-added chemicals/materials. Using biotechnologies, downstream process and green chemistry, our ambition is to build integrated industrial chains going from plants to commercial products.
