Howard Burvill, Business Development Consultant, Wood Beca

Howard Burvill, BAppSc, MBA, has been a part of the Pulp, Paper, Packaging, and Forest industry since 1983. He currently serves as the Business Development Consultant for Wood Beca, focusing on fostering industry growth through the provision of local and global engineering and technical support to the Australian sector.

Howard has held various technical, sales, and management roles at Australian Newsprint Mills/Fletcher Challenge Paper/Norske Skog, working at the Boyer Mill, Albury Mill, Tasman Mill, and Sittingbourne Mill. He also held regional and global technical and R&D positions in the Sydney and Oslo offices. During his tenure in Oslo, he served as the VP R&D for Norske Skog. Since 2009, he has worked as an industry consultant on various projects related to the industry, collaborating with APPITA, FWPA, Visy, and governmental bodies.

Howard has been a continuous member of Appita since 1983 and has been a member of BioPRIA trustees since 2009. In addition to his management and sales experience, he possesses technical expertise in papermaking, coating, TMP, recycled fiber and deinking, wood chemistry, printing, water and wastewater treatment, process and wood chemistry, and biological systems.
