Mr Tim Lester joined the Australian Forest Products Association (AFPA) in May 2021 as Senior Policy Manager for Pulp, Paper & Bioproducts.

AFPA is the peak industry body representing tree growers (indigenous forest and plantation), timber processors (native and plantation) and the pulp, paper and bioproducts sector of Australia.

Tim has more than two decades of experience working in public policy, stakeholder engagement and government affairs across rural innovation, agriculture, and natural resource management. Prior to joining AFPA he was Executive Officer for the Council of Rural Research and Development Corporations, a position he held for seven years.

He has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and started his career in rural media. He is a graduate of the Australian Rural Leadership Program (Course 22) and has a Graduate Certificate in Australian Rural Leadership from James Cook University.
