Additionally, he is involved in certifying materials used in the New Zealand building industry for compliance with construction and residential building codes relating to external moisture, duty classification and pliable membranes. He is a member of PK-019 Appita standards testing committee for methods of test for pulp and paper as well as ISO/TC 6/SC 2 committee for test methods and quality specifications for paper and board. In the recent years he has been involved in evaluating products for repulpability and helping develop new methods for recyclability potential.
