Geetha Arumugam has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Wales, UK in 2007 and graduated from polymer chemistry BSc Chemistry from National University of Singapore in 1998.Her career began as a polymer scientist and she went on to management positions in R&D, technical service support, sales & marketing and business development role in various coating applications i.e. packaging coating and industrial coatings for the last 25 years. She is currently Senior Business Development Manager and leading Global Flexible Packaging for Michelman Asia Pacific Pte Ltd in water-based functional coatings for Printing and Packaging with major role of developing new packaging concepts and sustainable solutions with cost efficiency whilst bringing in value prepositions in water-based coatings for printing and packaging industry.

Synopsis:
Presentation to be discussing on innovating a sustainable future with paper packaging with water based functional coatings to meet various packaging needs. Conversion to paper packaging depends on product end cycle, pack end use, paper choices , pre and post conditioning processes. Packaging conversion trend is being influenced by legislation, brand image, responsibilities towards plastics reduction waste. Key solutions to provide barrier , packaging performance to maintain shelf life and quality of end use. This also includes the consideration of cost of conversion on current equipment or new to meet optimization and productivity as film laminates.
