Appita invites you to attend a free information session introducing a new, industry-led Renewable Process Heat Study focused on practical options for decarbonising process heat across the pulp, paper and packaging sector.

Renewable Process Heat Study
Information Session for the Pulp, Paper & Packaging Sector

Process heat underpins many core operations across our industry, yet identifying viable alternatives to natural gas remains complex — particularly for high-temperature, continuous processes.

Appita is launching the Renewable Process Heat Study, supported by the Australian Industry Renewable Heat Accelerator and delivered in partnership with Northmore Gordon. The study will provide practical, evidence-based insights into the technical and commercial readiness of renewable and electrified process heat technologies and help the sector understand viable pathways forward.

The information session will be presented by Angela Clarke, Principal Consultant at Northmore Gordon, who brings extensive experience in industrial energy systems, process heat and decarbonisation across the pulp, paper and packaging sector.

This information webinar is the first step in the study. It will:

• Introduce the study scope and objectives
• Provide an overview of renewable process heat technologies and their readiness
• Outline the path to renewable heat, including the role of heat recovery, partial electrification and electrification
• Explain how industry participation will shape priorities, case studies and outcomes

Who should attend

This session is relevant for people across the pulp, paper and packaging sector, particularly those involved in operations, process heat systems, utilities, energy and decarbonisation planning, and capital decision-making.
It will be especially valuable for operations, utilities and maintenance teams who want to better understand practical options for process heat, alongside technical, sustainability and strategy leads involved in future pathway planning.
