Ardi Sastrohartoyo, Manufacturing and EHSQ Manager at Kemira Australia, Hallam.

Ardi is the Site and EHSQ Manager for Kemira’s Hallam Manufacturing facility, where he oversees plant operations and ensures that all activities comply with the EHSQ management system, certified to ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001. He aligns operations with company objectives and customer requirements, leading the site in manufacturing output, inventory management, quality control, process improvement, maintenance, and engineering.

Previously, Ardi held the role Business Systems Manager at Opal Australian Paper’s Maryvale Mill, where he led the development, implementation, and maintenance of the business management system. He is an Internal Auditor for the HSEQ integrated management systems, including NATA-accredited laboratory and Chain of Custody processes for FSC CoC, FSC Controlled Wood, PEFC and Responsible Wood certifications.

He has also held senior roles including Group HSE Manager – Process Safety/ Chemicals at Toll Group and Major Hazard Facility & Risk Specialist at Melbourne Water, where he managed MHF Safety Cases & Dangerous Goods compliance obligations across multiple facilities nationwide in Australia. Earlier in his career, he worked in various technical engineering roles with Orica Mining Services across the APAC region.

He is a Chartered Professional Chemical Engineer (MIEAust CPEng, CEng MIChemE) and Chartered Chemist (MRACI CChem) with over 20 years of experience within the manufacturing, mining and water utility sectors across the Australia Pacific region.

Ardi has demonstrated exemplary leadership and a commitment to advancing innovation and best practices within the sector. He is known for his expertise in chemical engineering and business process improvements (AGSM Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) to contribute valuable insights and solutions to industry challenges.
